This is a test post from flickr, a fancy photo sharing thing.

Photography- intoducing Isabella

So I have always had an interest in photography. I remember when me dad bought me my first SLR camera when I was 12. I thought I was so cool and professional. Well I had not done much with that hobby until recently. For Christmas I asked everyone to get me stuff to set up a mini studio. Here are a couple of pictures I as able to take.
Introducing Isabella Dawn Muir (Rachel and Alan's new daughter)

Isabella was great at taking photos. I was half expecting a sleeping baby, which is easier to pose, but she had such big bright eyes that it made it fun. Jaxson on the other hand did not want to take pictures. These are about all that I got. He would only humor me for about 10 mins. I had to work fast.

So it has been our new years resolution to save money, but we still want to go out and do things. This weekend was all about going out, but not spend any money. Our first stop was to the SLC Library. However Jaxson was not interested in reading any books. Taylor and Aiden were there so he had to run around the library. After a good hour playing there we decided to go to the Clark Planatarium. We had fun looking at all the exhibits and the kids loved playing "on the moon". After that we walked around in the rain for a while at the gateway. It was a nice weekend. Does anyone else know of some fun free or inexpensive places to take the kids to?

4 Years and still counting

Last week Brandon and I celebrated our 4th year of marriage! Wow where does the time go? We decided to just spend a relaxing weekend just the two of us. We were going to stay the weekend at my mom's cabin, but found out it was buried under 10 feet of snow. So instead we went to the Marriott downtown. My mom took Jaxson Friday morning and we went to lunch, a movie, and dinner (paid for all with gift cards). Then we were supposed to sleep in but Jaxson has trained us to be wide awake by 5:00 am.
Saturday we went to the Temple in the morning and then Brandon decided it was time I learn how to shoot a gun. Brandon grew up around guns, I did not. So this idea scared me a little bit. Brandon called up his dad and we headed to his house to "load up". As these two guys start pulling out gun after gun and huge bags of ammo, I start getting a little more nervous. I finally leaned over to Brandon and ask if we were going to rob a bank. Finally we get to the shooting range and they started me out easy. I started with a little gun and worked my way up to a 45. I got to the big one and lined up and pulled the trigger and that gun had such a backlash that it almost flew out of my hands and hit Brandon behind me. I will tell you this I hope I never have to use one for real, because I would be in big trouble.

After all of that excitement I decided it was time to see my little boy. We picked him up at my moms and he was a little crabby (I think he has hit the terrible twos stage), but was excited to see us. As a treat to him we took him to see Walking With Dinosaurs. It was very impressive. He was scared at first, but once he realized the dinosaurs were nice he thought it was fun.

New start

Hello-
So I have never blogged before and I am not sure if I will keep this updated but I will sure try. Brandon and I just celebrated our four year anniversary. We left Jaxson with my mom for the weekend. This was the first time I had ever left him overnight. It was nice to spend time alone with Brandon. We went to the movie 7 lbs which was very sad by the way. We spent the night at the Marriott had a wonderful dinner and actually got to sleep in past 4:45 am. Which is when Jaxson's internal alarm goes off. The whole weekend was very relaxing and I am very grateful for my mom.
